Gill Button

Love the painted portrats of London-based artist Gill Button. She studied illustration at Kingston University in England, started her career working on commercial projects. She created illustrations and digital works for advertising campaigns and companies before focusing on painting.
She has collaborated with Dries Van Noten after the Belgian designer discovered her work on Instagram. She also hand-painted 1,200 invitations for his fall 2016 show in February, and contributed work that was later included in the designer’s book. Button was also commissioned by the designer to create hand painted plates for a celebratory lunch. To follow Gill's work and keep up to date find her on Instagram.

Joe Webb

Love the "Antares & Love" artwork from UK-based artist Joe Webb (represented by Folio).
He uses vintage magazines and printed ephemera that he has collected to create simple yet elegant collages. Webb reimagines the imagery using concise edits, transforming the original scene into something altogether more surreal with a strong message woven within.
“I started making these simple hand-made collages as a sort of luddite reaction to working as a graphic artist on computers for many years. I like the limitations of collage...using found imagery and a pair of scissors, there are no Photoshop options to resize, adjust colours or undo."

Illustration Inspiration!

The past decade has seen a revival of contemporary illustration in advertising, magazines, museums and art galleries, resulting in a strong presence in online publications and exhibitions. Illustration can be seen as a voice of our time, a reflection of our society.

This first issue full of illustration inspiration is about women, a classic and endlessly inspiring theme. From the ancient Greeks to Renaissance painters, from Baroque sculptors to photographers of today, countless artists have found the female body to be a source of inspiration and had women as their muses.

Twenty of the most exciting emerging and established illustrators have been selected to create six illustrations of sensual women. Most of these artworks have been made exclusively for this magazine. The result is extraordinary, elegant, sensitive, emotional, provocative, erotic and sensual.

Enjoy!

Illustration is back!
The past decade has seen a revival of contemporary illustration in advertising, magazines, museums and art galleries, resulting in a strong presence in online publications and exhibitions. Illustration can be seen as a voice of our time, a reflection of our society.

It was time for me to start my own independent online zine showcasing talented contemporary illustrators from around the world.

Twenty of the most exciting emerging and established illustrators have been selected to create six illustrations of sensual women. Most of these artworks have been made exclusively for this magazine. The result is extraordinary, elegant, sensitive, emotional, provocative, erotic and sensual.

Emma Zanelli (NZ)
Emma is a New Zealand born freelance illustrator and graphic artist based in London. Her work is created with pencil and watercolour, then additional colour and detail is added digitally.

She describes her work as seductive, strange and sardonic. Her main sources of inspiration are the women in David Lynch and Tarantino films — her muse is a hardened, unapologetic bombshell with a story to tell.

“I don’t want to just draw women simply because they are beautiful, I want to invoke a backstory for her character. I like to put her in a little movie. Who is she? What did she do? I like to think the women I draw are strong, outspoken and a little bit scary”

More of her beautiful work is featured in the first I LOVE ILLUSTRATION MAGAZINE. BUY HERE
